BBVA clarifies rumors about alleged hacking and information leak

In the afternoon of this Monday, November 11, the X account (formerly Twitter) of an alleged hacker claimed that there had security breached of the bank system BBVAthus filtering information about the entity’s users, such as transaction records, among others.

In the midst of these statements, the bank itself issued a statement in which it clarifies the situation regarding this alleged hack, ensuring that no attack on its system or any leak of its clients’ information has been identified.

BBVA reported that, after carrying out the corresponding verifications, no anomalies have been detected in its systems.

“All services and customer service channels are operating normally,” the bank indicated.

“However, we have arranged an additional review with some suppliers and commercial establishments with which we have discount agreements, with the aim of verifying any incident on their platforms,” ​​they added.

Likewise, they highlighted that in these establishments, only basic information about the entity’s clients is handled.
