The Tax Administration Service (SAT) reported that Grupo Salinas will make the payment for a total amount of 32 thousand 132 million 897 thousand 658 pesos.
Of that amount, 10,400 million 537 pesos were deposited this Thursday into the Federation Treasury, while the remaining amount will be covered through 18 payments.
Grupo Salinas said today that despite not agreeing with the figure attributed, it decided to take advantage of the 39% discount provided by law to close the chapter and put an end to what it considers a systematic campaign against it.
“We must pay not out of conviction or because we consider it fair, but to turn this page,” they noted in their official statement.
The original debt of Grupo Salinas and its companies TV Azteca and Elektra amounted to 51,000 million pesos, which will now be partially paid as part of the agreement with the SAT.
This same week, businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego, owner of Grupo Salinas, assured that if he has no other alternative, he will seek to compete against Morena for the Presidency of Mexico.
During an interview with Financial TimesBritish media, Salinas Pliego said that from now on he is ”fighting very hard against this criminal and corrupt regime”, referring to the federal government headed by Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
Described by the media as ”a follower of far-right leaders,” the businessman noted that Mexico “is moving towards a one-party system like Cuba.”
