Additionally, the ISSSTE delivered 5 million pesos to the Foundation for the Purchase of Accompaniment Chairs for Hospitals, Wheel Chairs, Stretches, Prostheses, Auditory Assistants, Training Courses for Nurses and Physicians, in addition to children’s books for the Oncology area .
However, there is no record in the archives of the institution that purchases have been made or justification or registration of the beneficiaries of these funds, Batres added.
Complaints
For these facts, since May 2023 the ISSSTE filed a lawsuit to recover the spaces delivered to the Foundation and, in August of the same year, a criminal complaint for improper occupation of its offices.
He has also asked the Ministry of Economy for the revocation of the name “ISSSTE Foundation” and has filed criminal and administrative demands before the Anti -Corruption and Good Governance Secretariat.
“Public officials themselves created private intermediation institutions to divert public resources that could have been invested directly from public institutions,” said Batres.
However, these complaints were filed openly and it will be the institutions who determine if the public officials involved are responsible, he added.
Space recovery
After the complaints, the ISSSTE has recovered eight spaces that leased the foundation to third parties in six medical units in Mexico City, including the Regional Hospital “General Ignacio Zaragoza” and the General Hospital of Tacuba.
He has also recovered the offices “illegally occupied” and has canceled permission to use the name “ISSSTE”.
