Batakis and Cafiero highlighted the record level of exports

The Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakisand the chancellor santiago cafieroanalyzed this Monday the foreign trade statistics, which highlight that exports are at maximum levels for the first five months of the year, with a total volume of 35,917 million dollars.

This amount represented the highest historical value for this period, exceeding by 13% the previous maximum registered between the months of January and May 2013, informed the Treasury Palace and the Foreign Ministry.

Exports accumulate a year-on-year increase of 26.6%and it is estimated that in the first six months of the year they reach 44,500 million dollars and end the year around 90,000 million dollarsthe maximum volume in history, highlighted the Palacio San Martín.

The products exported with the greatest increase were wheat (1,805 million dollars), corn (998 million dollars), crude petroleum oils (USD 922 million dollars) and biodiesel (655 million dollars), driven by higher prices, but also they grew in quantities, with manufactures of industrial origin registering the highest values ​​exported since 2013.

Exports accumulate an interannual increase of 26.6%.

Argentina’s three main trading partners, Brazil, China Y USAtogether absorbed 26.3% of exports and supplied 52% of imports from January to May 2022.

On the other hand, the highest surpluses corresponded to trade with Chili (1,874 million dollars), Netherlands (1,388 million dollars), India (1,386 million dollars), Peru ($909 million), Indonesia ($902 million) and Algeria ($860 million).

With respect to bilateral meeting that President Alberto Fernández will hold with his counterpart from the United States, Joseph Bidenboth ministers agreed that Argentina has a positive agenda to work on in relation to the country’s export offer, to which are added concrete developments in renewable energies, natural resources and the technical capacity of the technological scientific apparatus.

Finally, Batakis and Cafiero highlighted intra-zone Mercosur trade reached 17,500 million dollars in the first five months, equivalent to an increase of 19% year-on-year.

Between January and May, Argentine exports within the bloc grew 16%, while imports increased 22%.

For its part, the bloc’s extra-zone trade was 287.4 billion dollars, an increase of 28% so far this year.
