The Brazilian men’s basketball team kicked off the 2023 World Cup qualifiers very well, beating Chile 77-53 at the Obras Sanitarias stadium, in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

The match also marked the beginning of the work of coach Gustavo De Conti in charge of the team. The highlight of the match was wing/pivot Bruno Caboclo, who reached 14 points and 13 rebounds. The scorer of the match was Lucas Mariano, with 18 points and three rebounds.
“We started by making mistakes on defense and allowing three-point balls from them. We managed to correct it and there was a moment when Chile went almost eight minutes without scoring. It’s the beginning of a job, but it makes me happy to see the players’ motivation”, declared coach Gustavo De Conti.
Brazil returns to the court next Saturday (27), from 19:10 (GMT), again against Chile.
