Operations aimed at recovering payments owed by employers are carried out in different businesses by the National Directorate of Income of the Social Security Fund (CSS).
Edwin Montenegro, National Director of Income of the entity, stressed that these actions are aimed at the economic activities that currently show the most delinquency: bars, restaurants and the construction sector, in order to get employers to catch up with their worker-employer quota.
Among the main anomalies detected, he said that companies have been found that are not registered, omit employees or have them off the payroll, for which those in charge of economic activities were urged to update with the institution, are within the law and called on employees to “demand their employers to pay them their worker-management fees.”
These operations began in David, in Chiriquí, the Azuero region, Santiago de Veraguas and in Panama City.
“In the National Directorate of Revenue we are also offering all the alternatives, seeking to help economic reactivation and these companies that are delinquent with the Social Security Fund, we currently have payment agreements and we are one year away from the completion of the Amnesty Law. 215, we have until May 2023, so there are many options that can be offered and it is only a matter of them approaching and we will gladly assist them”, indicated Montenegro.
