Velez Sarsfield achieved its second victory in the Argentine Apertura Tournament by defeating 2-1 Córdoba Workshopsin a meeting marked by the non-greeting of coaches Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Carlos Tevez. In the continuation of the second day, ‘Fortín’ defeated Talleres 2-1 with goals from Manuel Lanzini and Joaquín García, to reverse a result that Augusto Schott had opened for the Córdoba team.
The victory, which left Vélez as the only leader of Zone A with a perfect score of six, had as a notable fact that the coaches, former teammates at Boca Juniors, did not greet each other before or after the game. In the post-match press conferences, Carlos Tevez responded: “If the relationship with Guillermo is broken? I prefer not to talk,” while Guillermo Barros Schelotto maintained: “I don’t have any problem and if I had something to say about Tevez I would say it to him.”
