The midfielder of Valencia Enzo Barrenechea He said he was “very happy and content” for his first call-up with the senior team of Argentinasomething that he said he dreamed of since he was little but that he did not expect right now and that will allow him to share locker rooms with players he admires.
“It’s a dream I’ve had since I was little. I didn’t expect it at this moment and it was an immense joy. I had the opportunity to be in the youth category, but I always had the ‘thorn’ of being able to play in an official tournament with the senior team,” He explained in an interview with the club’s media, where he plays on loan from Aston Villa.
Regarding his teammates, he said that he sees “all of them as idols” but he was convinced that he can be at their level. “I saw most of them when I was little and having the opportunity to share with all of them is crazy. I know the level I’m going to find, they are the best. I’m prepared, last year I was close to going,” he revealed.
The call from the Argentine senior has come at a time when Valencia has suffered enormous floods that have left more than two hundred dead and enormous material damage. “It’s a bittersweet taste because of what happened in Valencia and then finding out about the call.
