Barracas Central achieved its second victory by beating Talleres de Córdoba, 2-0, in a match on the seventh date of the Professional Football League (LPF), which had a great reception for the Córdoba cast in the previous round after “fastening” the qualifying for the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores.
Facundo Mater 40 minutes into the first half and Bruno Sepúlveda (10m.), gave the victory to the visitors, who had just beaten San Lorenzo last week.
The ‘T’, which beat Colón on Wednesday in Santa Fe for the Libertadores, does not make a foot in the local league and has not won for six dates: it has five points and occupies the lower part of the table, as well as the table annual, in which it occupies the last placement, with 16 units.
After the demand during the week, DT Pedro Caixinha chose to put an alternative formation and the defensive decoupling cost him dearly, since Barracas Central, which reached nine points, capitalized on the local errors and was effective in winning an important victory.
On the warm night at Kempes it was Alfredo Berti’s men who tried from the start, while Talleres got comfortable on the field.
Then Talleres matched it with a good job by Favio Álvarez, who assisted Francisco Pizzini, who appeared behind everyone and with a header he was about to convert, but the good reaction of goalkeeper Maxi Gagliardo prevented him from celebrating the opening of the scoreboard at 22 minutes.
Later, Mater capitalized on a rebound left by Alan Aguerre after a header by Neri Bandiera and scored the 1-0 goal for the visitor, just as Talleres began to dominate the action and seemed more likely to take the lead.
He kept looking for the ‘T’ and Girotti had his, but the former River headed just outside and that’s how the first half went, with a Barracas Central that took advantage of the shortcomings in the local defense and thus was able to go to the locker room ahead.
Triple change made Pedro Caixinha at the start of the complement: inside Enzo Díaz, Alan Franco and Diego Valoyes; outside Ángelo Martino, Álvarez and Héctor Fértoli. That quickly changed the dynamics of the game, with a more offensive Talleres and looking for equality on all fronts.
But a new error at the exit of the premises gave Sepúlveda the chance, who took advantage of an error by Ulises Ortegoza, and with a mouthpiece he was able to beat Aguerre for 2-0.
Disorganized and with more desire than good football, Talleres looked for him until the end, but he had no clear chances to discount.
Barracas thus closed an ideal night to continue adding and confidently wait for the next date, in which they will receive Argentinos Juniors, and in which Talleres will visit Boca.
