Bar owners are accused of noise pollution in an unauthorized area

The fiscal agent of the Specialized Unit for Environmental Crimes, Carlos Rojas Martínez accused the owners of the bar located in the Carmelitas neighborhood of Asunción, for the alleged violation of Law 716/96. art. 5 inc e) for not having a Commercial License (Municipality) or an Environmental License (EDE and DIA) issued by the Ministry of the Environment.

The owners of the aforementioned premises are César Diego Luis Sánchez Gómez and Herberto Lorenzo Sánchez Troche.

The accusation is based on the event that occurred on January 16, 2022 at approximately 01:00 am, a complaint was made about the volume of music at very high decibels, coming from the place called Central Bar, presumably said place functions as a dance venue, pub-disco, bringing together a large number of people. However, they also perform concerts by live musical groups. This event occurred on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. until 05:00 a.m. in the morning approximately.

The representative of the Public Ministry requested alternative measures to prison for the defendants and the cessation of the activities of the premises, since it is located in an area not allowed for the disco-pub branch, according to reports from the Municipality of Asunción.
