The general administrator of the state Reserve Bank (Banreservations), Samuel Pereyra, reported today that this institution is the largest employer of Dominican Financial System, with more than 13,000 collaborators and a trillion pesos in assets.
“Banreservations was founded on October 24, 1941, with active amounting to 11,500,000 million pesos, with less than 100 employees in its beginnings. Currently has 13,0000 collaboratorsbecoming the largest employer in the Finance system”, he expressed.
When speaking with the press, after participating in a thanksgiving mass in commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the financial entity, maintained that the multiple bank has been characterized by being a faithful promoter of the productive sectors of the country, especially those that attract investment.
Performance
Pereyra reiterated that this year they will be inaugurating new branches outside the country, in MadridSpain and, soon, in New York and MiamiUnited States, to continue strengthening the bank’s leadership, which -he understands- will also attract new investments and more tourists for the confidence that the institution is generating in other nations.
In that sense, he noted that the economic financing for him sightseeing and the free trade zone continues to strengthen. “We continue to support the free zones, which are one of the main generators of foreign currency and jobsand it is a sector that we must protect”, he said.
The administrator of Banreservations detailed part of the bank’s progress so far this year, highlighting the regional expansion of its service centers. Of six offices that he had in 1941, he now has 319, which are distributed throughout the national territory, and almost 3 million clients, he added.
Scope and achievements
“At the close of last August, the total assets of Banreservations reached a trillion pesosranking first in the entire Dominican banking system and becoming the first Dominican bank to achieve this transcendental milestone,” Pereyra said.
He mentioned that Banreservations became the first Dominican financial institution, and the sixth in the American continent, to obtain the ISO-37001 certification, of Anti-Bribery Management Systemby managing to meet international parameters of ethical compliance that allow it to prevent, detect and mitigate the risk of bribery and corruption in a timely and effective manner.

Pereyra added that in the current administration they have also made an effort to firmly preserve the historical legacy of the bank, which today more than ever is internationally recognized by leading international magazines, which have awarded it as the best bank of the Dominican Republic and the safest bank of the country, among other awards.

The mass commemorative was officiated at the Cathedral of Santo Domingo by Auxiliary Bishop Benito Angeles. Members of the Board of Directors, officials, members of the diplomatic corps, executives and collaborators of the bank were present.
