Santo Domingo.- Banco de Reservas held its sixth “Banking is Homeland” event in the San Carlos sector, a massive activity that has become a regional benchmark and model in financial inclusion issues.

Samuel Pereyra, CEO of the bank, stressed that the idea is that we all have the opportunity to develop a responsible financial culture, which allows us to plan our personal and family future, and that this, in turn, serves to strengthen the well-being of the country.

“In order to achieve this goal, we have strongly promoted mass banking campaigns such as the one we are having today, where any person, with their respective identity card, can open a bank account easily, quickly and safely,” he said at the San Carlos Club in the National District.

Pereyra reaffirmed the need to advance financial inclusion as a key element for national development, and highlighted that Bancarizar es Patria is one of the most satisfying activities carried out by Banreservas, due to its transformative effect on people’s lives.

“This effort to increase banking access is not only recognized by all Dominicans, but also has international recognition, which we received eight days ago, granted by the Latin American Federation of Banks (FELABAN) and the Association of Public and Private Banks of the Argentine Republic (ABAPPRA),” concluded the banking executive.

The sixth day brought together hundreds of people interested in accessing financial products and services.
