The executive president of Banco de Reservas (Banreservas), Samuel Pereyra Rojas, highlighted the role of the entity in the economic development of the country and its impact on the diaspora during his four years of management in one conference titled “Banreservas: Engine of the National Economy 2020-2024″, within the framework of the 83rd anniversary of the financial entity.

In his presentation, he highlighted the recent achievements of the Banreservasincluding the promulgation of the Law 13-24which grants the institution the status of a multiple bank, allowing it to expand its capitalization capacity and consolidate its position in the national financial system.

“This executive presidency has achieved the greatest capital increase In the 83 years of history of Banreservas“Pereyra highlighted. “We have gone from 10,000 million pesos in 2020 to 39,000 million in January 2022, and more recently we reached 76,000 million in August 2024,” he added.

The executive stressed the commitment of the state bank to the financial inclusionhighlighting the “Banking is Homeland” program, with which they have managed to open more than 5,400 savings accounts, benefiting more than 7,000 people, and holding workshops financial education.

Financial support to productive sectors

The portfolio of loans of the construction sector increased by 148.1% in four years, with 22,051.64 million pesos that promoted various infrastructure and housing projects in the country, according to data from the report management.

The entity opened several representative offices in Europe and USAstarting with its headquarters in Madrid, Spain, in January 2023. In September of the same year, it opened another in New York, and in November one in Miami, Pereyra recalled.

Pereyra said that until June 2024, the international offices have served more than 34,800 customers and have managed more than 650,000 remittancesconsolidating itself as a key ally of the diaspora Dominican.
