Banreservas and CaixaBank strengthen remittance channel Spain-RD

He Reserve Bank and CaixaBank renewed their collaboration agreement for the management of the sending remittances from Spain to the Dominican Republic, with the aim of offering better economic conditions, greater comfort and security to Dominicans residing in that European country.

The agreement establishes that Dominican users of CaixaBank will pay a fixed commission of one euro for each sending remittances and will access preferential rates in currency exchange, both at the time of sending and when making deposits into your accounts through Banreservas.

The executive president of Banreservasdoctor Leonardo Aguilerahighlighted that the renewal of the agreement is a sign of the commitment of the financial institution to guarantee a fast shipping and insurance remittances of Dominicans residing in Spain, which translates into economic well-being for those residing in the Dominican Republic.

Aguilera explained that Banreservas has a representative office in Madrid, from where it provides ongoing support to the Dominican community in that European country, in addition to having more than 300 offices, hundreds of banking subagents and a wide channel network alternates distributed throughout the national geography, which facilitates the withdrawal of the remittances received.

He pointed out that nearly 300,000 Dominicans reside in Spain and send higher remittances to US$ 800 million annually, a figure equivalent to 6.9% of the foreign currency handled in the local market.

The agreement was signed by the doctor Leonardo Aguileraexecutive president of Banreservasand Felipe Oriolglobal director of Multilaterals and Financial Institutions of CaixaBank.

It is highlighted that close to 40% of Dominicans residing in Spain are CaixaBank clientsso it was essential to renew an agreement that reflected best benefits and conditions for such a significant community.

CaixaBank is the leading bank in Spain, with more than 20 million customers and the largest network of offices and ATMs in the country, with nearly 4,000 branches and presence in more than 2,200 municipalities.

The relationship between Banreservas and CaixaBank dates back to 2007, when the first agreement. The present renewal aims to guarantee greater benefits and comfort for both Dominican senders and receivers of remittances from Spain.
