Banrep manager regrets Carrasquilla’s withdrawal from the board of directors

After the most recent meeting of the Board of Directors of Banco de la República, which took place this Friday, the general manager Leonardo Villar regretted the decision of the Council of State to annul the appointment of Alberto Carrasquilla in the entity, but added that he will abide by the decision.

“I want to express that I regret this decision as it affects the appointment of a person whose training, experience and suitability for the position are widely recognized inside and outside the Bank”Villar said.

Likewise, he thanked the contributions of former Minister Carrasquilla to the Board and the Board of Directors of the Bank during the period in which he acted as a member of the institution, “Which were always characterized by their constructive character and the depth of their analysis.”

Finally, he highlighted Carrasquilla’s attitude, since “During this period, he helped maintain an atmosphere of great camaraderie and fluid communication with the rest of the Board, with the administration and with the Bank’s technical teams.”
