Banco do Brasil, in partnership with the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Microenterprise and Small Business (Memp), launched this Monday (16) the MEI Card, aimed exclusively at individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs).
Among the advantages is the offer of zero annual fees and installment payments. The card will work in debit and credit modes, has a QR Code for access to data and services on the Entrepreneur Portal, and access to an engagement and training platform.
“These entrepreneurs are currently responsible for 70% of the jobs created last year and this year,” highlighted Minister Márcio França, from Memp, during the launch event for the new card, in Brasília.
There are currently around 15.7 million active MEIs in Brazil. According to the minister, the MEI Card will also give dignity to microentrepreneurs, as it will be a way of identifying their registration and regularized activity, especially for those who make a living from street trading. “The person will have the chance to show their card and will be recognized,” he explained.
