Banco do Brasil launches campaign to combat violence against women

Banco do Brasil joined the August Lilac campaign this Monday (1st) to combat violence against women. According to the bank’s president, Fausto Ribeiro, the initiative is a continuation of the Sinal Vermelho campaign, created last year. The objective is to make the Banco do Brasil network and its employees available so that they can identify situations in which women are at risk, said Fausto. “That the bank employee is prepared to identify these situations involving women’s risk and activate, in a discreet and safe way, the competent means so that we can, in some way, assist in these risk situations”. Ribeiro says that 19 women have already been helped through this action. The information was given during an interview with the program. According to Ribeiro, the bank has trained more than 30,000 employees in the last year so that they are prepared to act in situations that detect a woman victim of violence. and safe, because this situation, somehow, requires this behavior, so that the woman can, in some way, use this network of branches of Banco do Brasil to be able to make this complaint. And the Bank of Brazil, in turn, activate the competent means – in this case the police – so that the woman can feel safe and protected”. The campaign will continue indefinitely.

According to Fausto Ribeiro, Banco do Brasil has other strategies aimed at the female audience, such as BB para Elas, which are trucks with services that help women who want to start a business. There are three main axes of this program: financial solutions for the desired type of business; entrepreneurial education; and actions related to well being and health.. The truck schedule can be accessed on the website: www.broto.com.br

The bank’s president also spoke of other BB actions, such as the National Support Program for Micro and Small Businesses (Pronampe) and the Safra Plan.
