Bancada de Fuerza Popular denounces that a group of parliamentarians sabotages the early elections

the bench of today issued a statement ratifying that it will vote for the early general elections even though it has not yet been defined whether the issue will be discussed again in the current legislature, which ends tomorrow, Friday, February 10, or whether its debate will be postponed until the next annual period of sessions that begins next July 27.

“Our parliamentary group defended the need to approve a reform to shorten the mandate and advance elections as soon as possible as a measure that helps the country to get out of the crisis we are going through,” the document specifies.

Likewise, it urges congressmen to vote prioritizing the interests of the country. In this context, he also criticizes the attitude of a group of parliamentarians who, he maintains, “has decided to sabotage any initiative that seeks to cut the mandate and advance immediate elections, as happened last Friday in the Constitution Commission.”

“This sabotage caused congressmen from the extreme left of Pedro Castillo’s environment and from the radical right to share a common goal: to screw themselves to their seats until 2026,” he stresses.
