Educational establishments and institutions gave moments of joy to children this weekend. The entertainment began on Friday and extended until this Saturday April 12, date on which Children and Child Day is celebrated in Bolivia.
In the educational units, the little ones received baskets, sandwiches, sweet, soda and much love and affection from their teachersthat in some cases they dressed in superheroes to cheer the students.
In Santa Cruz, most entertained minors on Friday, such is the case of the San Antonio Educational Unit. In this establishment the teachers and parents gave snack and shared recreational moments with the students. Professor Ángela Cuéllar, one of the most enthusiastic was dressed as a wonder woman to be consistent with the girls of her course.
In the city of La Paz, there was waste of culture and traditions with the entrance of El Gran Piercito. About 2,500 children dazzled with their dances through the La Paz Center this Saturday. The activity was carried out by the Municipal Secretariat of Cultures.
“In total 75 fraternities of children delighted with dances, in a teaching and learning process so that the culture of great power remains alive in time,” said Américo Gemio, municipal secretary of cultures.
Show and foam party in Cochabamba
Mariscal Santa Cruz Park, located in the Chimba area, was the chosen place, this Saturday, to concentrate thousands of children in the city of Cochabamba. The activity was organized by the Municipal Mayor’s Office. A day before, minors were also entertained in their educational units.
The children accompanied by their parents arrived very early, since the entrance this day was free. To the place, Mayor Manfred Reyes Villa arrived, to overcome bicycles and share with the minors.
Tribute of justice
The Departmental Court of Justice (TDJ) of Cochabamba conducted an emotional and symbolic session of the Children’s room, in which outstanding students of the Santa Ana Educational Unit participated.
“We wanted to pay a different tribute to our girls and boys, developing a full room session in which their voice is taken into account, promoting its training in values and the commitment of the whole society with their well -being,” said the president of the Court, Martha Saavedra.
Children ministers for a day
The Ministry of Government installed this Saturday the Minister’s house in the Prado Paz. Eduardo del Castillo, head of this state portfolio, asked the little ones to enjoy their childhood, that security is in the hands of the authorities.
“We are concerned that the figures for violation of girls and boys in Bolivia are increasing,” lamented Del Castillo, so he pointed out that they work on norms so that people who transgress the rights of children have the maximum penalty in the country.
In other regions of the country there was also entertainment to children, mostly on Friday. The teachers took the opportunity to celebrate that day because they are a normal class day and because they are all together.
Why is Children’s Day remembered? And who created Children’s Day in Bolivia?
On April 12, 1952, the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) wrote the declaration of universal principles of the child, to protect them from inequality and abuse, according to UNICEF.
On that occasion it was agreed that each country should set a date to celebrate its children. The Bolivian government, in 1955, during the presidency of Víctor Paz Estenssoro, by Supreme Decree 04017 of April 11, 1955, instituted as Children’s Day on April 12.
