Balance Covid-19: Minsal reports 5,564 new cases and 57 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where it reported 5,564 new cases, of which 3,157 correspond to symptomatic people and 868 did not present symptoms. In addition, 1,539 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 3,476,914 and the recovered patients reached 3,398,749 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.

On the other hand, the death of 57 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 56,637 since the start of the pandemic. On the other hand, positivity reached 7.23% nationwide.

As for active cases, these reached 23,823 people and PCR tests amounted to 77,032 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 35,577,504

Meanwhile, there are 573 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 425 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 2,342 critical beds enabled and 327 critical beds available.

Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 6.55%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Biobío, La Araucanía and Ñuble.
