The Ministry of Health (Minsal) released a new report on the situation of Covid-19 in Chile. In this regard, they indicated that during the last 24 hours, 3,405 new cases have been registered, of which 2,291 correspond to people with symptoms, 226 asymptomatic.
Regarding the diagnostic capacity of Covid-19, 24,286 tests were taken in the last 24 hours (antigens and PCR), marking a total of 48,791,205 tests so far in the pandemic. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 11.66% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 11.94%.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Antofagasta, Magallanes and Biobío.
Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Aysén, Ñuble and Biobío.
Other figures
As of yesterday, 84 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 59 remain with mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 329 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours, 13 deaths were registered due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 64,392.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 5,231,041. Of this total, 10,942 patients are in the active stage, considering a five-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 5,133,160.
