Balance Covid-19: Minsal reports 2,958 new cases and 22 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) communicated this Sunday a new report on the situation of Covid-19 in our country. In this regard, they indicated that during the last 24 hours 2,958 new cases have been registered, of which 1,703 correspond to people with symptoms and 401 are asymptomatic.

In total, 4,630,935 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in Chile, of which 15,242 are in an active stage. Likewise, the DEIS reported that during the last 24 hours there were 22 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19, marking a total of 61,200 deaths in the country so far in the pandemic.

Regarding the diagnostic capacity of Covid-19, 34,586 tests (PCR and antigens) were taken during the last 24 hours, marking a total of 45,247,757 tests so far in the pandemic.

The Minsal reported that there are 117 people hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 67 have mechanical ventilation support. Meanwhile, the Integrated Health Network has 292 critical beds available around Chile.

According to the numbers delivered this day, the new cases at the national level showed a variation of 6% in the last week, while in 14 days there was a decrease of 13%.

Of the 2,958 new cases, 38% are diagnosed by antigen test, 45% originate from active case finding (BAC) and 19% of those reported are asymptomatic. Regarding the Metropolitan Region, it presents 31% due to antigen, 39% due to BAC and 13% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.
