The Ministry of Health (Minsal) communicated this Saturday a new report on the situation of Covid-19 in our country. In this regard, they indicated that during the last 24 hours, 2,846 new cases have been registered, of which 1,872 correspond to people with symptoms, 211 asymptomatic. In addition, 763 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
Regarding the diagnostic capacity of Covid-19, 23,328 tests were taken in the last 24 hours (antigens and PCR), marking a total of 48,922,503 tests so far in the pandemic in our country. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 10.86% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 11.53%.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Antofagasta, Biobío and Ñuble.
Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Aysén, Ñuble and Magallanes.
Other figures
As of yesterday, 72 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 50 remain with mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 299 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours, 14 deaths were registered due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 64,482 in the country.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 5,250,077. Of this total, 9,602 patients are in the active stage, considering a five-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 5,152,985.
