The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where 12,598 new cases were reported, of which 6,897 correspond to symptomatic people and 2,340 did not present symptoms. In addition, 3,361 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 4,357,818 and recovered patients reached 4,244,664 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.
On the other hand, the death of 34 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 58,054 since the start of the pandemic. In addition, positivity reached 14.01% nationwide.
As for active cases, these reached 47,204 people and PCR tests amounted to 90,750 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 42,806,255.
Meanwhile, there are 159 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 105 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 1,955 critical beds enabled and 253 critical beds available.
Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 11.64%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Antofagasta, Coquimbo and Araucanía.
