The Ministry of Health reported 5,196 new cases, of which 3,036 correspond to symptomatic people and 641 did not present symptoms. In addition, 1,519 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 4,669,403. and recovered patients reached 4,581,475. since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.
The death of 42 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 61,397 since the start of the pandemic. On the other hand, positivity reached 12.8% nationwide.
As for active cases, these reached 15,785 people and PCR tests amounted to 39,382 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 45,581,866.
Meanwhile, there are 92 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 66 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 1,886 critical beds enabled and 310 critical beds available.
Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 16.94%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Metropolitana, La Araucanía and Biobío.
