The president of Avellaneda Bakers Center April 27, Gastón Morahighlighted the positive result of the meeting held this Monday with the Secretary of Domestic Trade, Roberto Feletti, and assured that the creation of the wheat trust will guarantee a drop in the stock of industrial flour for commercial production.

“We saw him very predisposed (to Feletti). And the creation of the trust is already a reality and in 15 days, we will be having $1,150 flour plus VAT in the bakeries,” Mora told Telem Radio.

In that sense, he assured that the Secretary of Internal Commerce asked them that there be “a reciprocal effort” between the State and the bakers.

“Just as the State made an enormous effort and made the political decision to confront a sector that we know cares little about the table of Argentines, it also asked us to have the same commitment and that we can launch the $220 bread at $270 a kilogram, so that it is more beneficial for people’s pockets, understanding the economic situation that many have been going through,” Mora said.

Meanwhile, he said that from the Avellaneda Bakers Center they broadcast at the meeting “the concern about the other products that are also on the rise”and commented that they plan to “work 10 days from now to see if an economic thread style can be put together, understanding what Easter generates in Argentine families and that it is a very sensitive moment to share.”

In this regard, he indicated that “The margarine, sugar, yeast, and egg companies are going to be summoned to see the reason for the increases, so that what they are doing is justified”and stressed that “if they do not have justification, they will be asked to roll back the prices or sanctions will be implemented for increasing them for no reason.”

“So we are on the way to restructuring, to combat inflation, we are aware that the salary is not enough and that we have to fight to alleviate the pockets of Argentines,” Mora concluded.
