Baja California's flavor and traditions arrived in Los Pinos

In the midst of a music party, ancestral rituals, dances, paintings, photographs and traditional food, the Secretary of Culture of Baja California, Alma Delia Ábrego Ceballos, inaugurated this Saturday the great exhibition “Baja California in the Los Pinos Cultural Complex” so that all the audience that attends that enclosure knows and admires the artistic creations of the Bajacalifornians.

During the inauguration of the event held in the Plaza de las Jacarandas de los Pinos, Ábrego Ceballos commented that “the exhibition is to talk about what our tradition means, our written oral culture and our original peoples.”

On behalf of the entity’s governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, thanked President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo for appointing 2025 as the year of indigenous women, since, “in the case of Baja California, all traditional authorities are women.”

He also thanked the Federal Ministry of Culture, Claudia Curiel de Icaza, for opening the doors of the Los Pinos Cultural Complex “to share the creative force, the traditions and how rich is the worldview of the Youmano peoples,” said BajaCalifornian secretary.

He commented that Baja California is a state that has a strong history of power, strength, resilience, where its inhabitants first learned to survive in extremely strong climates.

Before dozens of attendees to the inauguration, Ábrego Ceballos invited them to visit the different spaces where they can admire crafts, traditional food such as rabbit and birria, typical dances and costumes. In addition, he commented that the State is also one of the main wine producers in the country and is also recognized in the world for its quality.

Also, he added, attendees can listen to rock concerts, photographic exhibitions where the culture, characters and images of the inhabitants of the ancestral peoples are shown.

Finally, Ábrego Ceballos informed that the Youmano People Justice Plan has been working for two years, so that our peoples have the place they deserve and pay this historical debt with them.

Elisa Lemus Cano, director of the Los Pinos Cultural Complex, invited the attendees to visit the wide exhibition of Baja California’s traditions and creations, who for the second time offer a wide variety of activities so that the capital and the capital know what it is and represents for the country is north.
