Bahia defeat Atlético-MG and advances in the Women’s Brazil Cup

Thanks to a goal by striker Wendy Carballo, Bahia defeated Atletico-MG 1-0 on Tuesday night (16) at the Antonio Carneiro Stadium, in Alagoinhas (BA), and secured the classification for the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Women’s Football Cup.

Playing as principal, the women of steel dominated the actions since the first minutes of the ball rolling. However, the Bahian team only managed to secure victory after the second half, when Wendy Carballo showed efficiency to overcome goalkeeper Maike.

Lionesses advance

Another team to advance at the Brazilian Cup was Sport, which hit the young reality by the 3-1 score on Retiro Island in Recife (PE). The lionesses built the victory with goals from Gessica, Bianquinha and Layza, while Ingrid designed to the Sao Paulo team.
