The Vega. –The administrator of Agricultural bank (Bagrícola), Fernando Durán, today announced the start of an extensive program to benefit 6,000 small producers who do not have access to bank financing, with zero-rate loans of between RD$20,000 and RD$250,000, with the aim of encouraging called “yard plantings”.
He said that the program is implemented in the 64 branches of the Bagrícola to promote food production among the harvesters with small plots of 10 tasks and less, who do not qualify for a bank loan.
The official made the announcement during a meeting at the stand set up by that institution in the third version of the “Festival de la Cosecha Constanza 2022” fair, which was inaugurated last Friday with the presence of President Luis Abinader and which lasted until this Sunday.
Durán said that each branch is mandated to grant a quota of between 100 and 150 loans.
Durán spoke accompanied by Glorial Fulcar, deputy general administrator of Bagrícola; Juan Rosario, deputy administrator; Salomón Rodríguez, director of Risk Control; Persio Cruz, member of the board of that financial entity, among other officials.
During the Constanza 2022 Harvest Festival, Bagrícola participated with a striking stand, in which it offered preferential loans of 6% per year to growers of flowers, vegetables, and other items produced in Constanza.
The activity, which took place at the Aedrónomo June 14, was organized by the Association for the Development of Constanza, with the participation of more than 100 exhibitors, of which 66 percent are related to the agricultural sector in that demarcation.
El Bagrícola participated in the fair with a welcoming stand in which it offered information on the products it offers to its customers and promotional items, such as pens, caps and umbrellas.
