Santiago’s gastronomic scene suffered a hard blow after the announcement of the definitive closure of Lazy Vegana popular restaurant located in the heart of Barrio Italia, in the commune of Providencia. Known for its innovative vegan food offering and a focus on sustainability, the restaurant had become a favorite among those looking for conscious and delicious options.
Through their social networks, the owners of Lazy Vegan reported that next December 8 will be the last day of service at their emblematic location on Condell Street. After six years of operation, the news has generated sadness among its regular customers, who highlighted the restaurant as a reference for vegan cuisine in Chile.
In an Instagram post, the team Lazy Vegan expressed his mixed feelings when announcing the closure. “With a mix of sadness and gratitude, we announce that Lazy Vegan is closing its doors after more than 6 years of sharing love, vegan food, and precious moments with you,” they wrote.
The message also included a special thank you to the customers, workers, suppliers, friends and family who supported the restaurant since its beginnings. “We want to express our deepest gratitude. This trip would not have been possible without you,” they highlighted, reflecting the impact that the restaurant had on both the local community and the capital’s vegan gastronomic scene.
Although the restaurant will close its current location, the owners have not ruled out the possibility of returning in the future. “We hope to return at some point in the future, with new ideas, more passion and the same dedication that has always characterized us,” they noted, leaving open the hope of a renewed return.
