On the other hand, a producer linked to the program assured by telephone to CubaNet that no new episodes of the comedy have aired due to “censorship.” “There has been great censorship in the making of the last episodes that were recorded, which has caused great discomfort among the group,” said the source, who asked not to be identified to avoid retaliation against him.

“This situation is added to the obstacles they have put in place to continue recording the program,” he added. “It seems they want us to give up continuing.”

The strong intervention of the television authorities in the program has led some within the group to question the future of the space. “live from the story In general, he has managed to overcome the obstacles and we have been able to talk so that the episodes can air, but on this occasion the censorship has gone further,” the source explained.

live from the storywith a cast made up of Luis Silva, Mario Sardiñas, Marlon Pijuán and Wilber Gutiérrez, among other actors, is probably the program most followed by Cuban viewers. Led by Silva, who plays the character of Pánfilo, this space has managed to put on the screen various problems of Cuban reality, developed with irony and a very Creole humor, with which it has won the favor of the public.

On several occasions, Silva has criticized the reality of the country and the crisis that is being experienced on the Island on his social networks. Throughout the history of the program, key actors from the cast have emigrated from the country, such as Andy VazquezOlivia Manrufo, Omar Franco, and more recently Irela Bravo.

In recent months, the actors of the program have recorded several audiovisual shorts with officials from the United States Embassy in Havana to explain to Cubans the legal ways to migrate and discourage illegal departures.

So far, no statement has been released from the program’s directors or from Cuban Television about the upcoming broadcasts of Live from the story.
