Bad Bunny is the most listened to artist in the world and Mexico contributed 41% of his success

Mexico, October 17 (Notistarz).- The Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny is positioned as the most listened to artist in the world within the Spotify platform, with Mexico being the country that paid more than 41% of his listeners last September. Spotify figures published by the newspaper El Universal, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny, obtained more than 535 million reproductions in the past month, of which more than 223 million were contributed only in Mexico, which would be equivalent to 41.47 per cent of your total.

“We are the country of Bad Bunny in terms of musical consumption,” assured Pepe Campa, host of Reactor 105.7 FM and Xplora 106.5 FM in an interview with the aforementioned newspaper and gave a reason why this increase in listeners could be due.

“I attribute it to his visit to Mexico in December (at the Azteca Stadium), people are very excited. If we have seen him at the Super Bowl at halftime or making movies with Brad Pitt, it would be foolish and stupid to turn our backs on the reality that he is the artist of the moment in our country.”

Globally, Bad Bunny was above the South Korean group BLACKPINK (which ranked second), and Harry Styles, third. The figures for Puerto Rican seem to continue to rise, since during October the most listened to genre in Mexico was urban.

“Urban is a fashion that is hitting like a hammer because mainly young people have not found a better option to leave reggaeton behind,” Campa considers about the fact that fans prefer it over other genres.
