Azua farmers receive RD$8.2 million in compensation for the impact of the Monte Grande dam

Azua. -He Government through the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (Indrhi) paid the sum of 8 million 222 thousand pesos by concept compensation to farmers and agricultural producers from the municipal district of Hato Nuevo Cortes, in the province of Azua.

The delivery was headed by the executive director of Indrhi, Olmedo Caba Romanowho pointed out that this delivery is another example of the president’s commitment Luis Abinader to meet the farmers who were impacted agricultural land for the construction project of the Monte Grande Damin the Southwest region.

Caba Romano indicated that these farmers who were compensated belong to the tail of the dam project and that farmers from the communities of Monte Grande have already been compensated, Saint SimonLos Güiros and La Meseta.

On your side Salvador Reyeswho spoke on behalf of the agricultural products that were compensated, thanked to President Luis Abinader for having these payments and compensating the damage caused due to rising waters and the multiple Monte Grande dam project.

587 million in compensation

The head director of Indrhi also revealed that the Government has disbursed a total of 587 million, 505 thousand pesos as compensation to the parceleros and community of the impact influence zone of the Monte Grande dam.

Likewise, he stated that by acquiring land for community members, President Abinader’s administration has carried out payments for an amount of 83 million, 204 thousand pesos.

Furthermore, he stated that they have carried out disbursements for an amount of 29 million 415 thousand pesos, for the contribution of sustenance to community.

The event was attended by the senator of the province of Azua, Lía Díazthe governor of the province, Minerva Navarrothe director of the Board of the Municipal District of Hato Nuevo Cortes, Happy Faust and other community representatives.
