AYSA (Argentine Water and Sanitation) will accompany the 48th Youth Pilgrimage on Foot to Luján this weekend, with a special assistance operation with drinking water for the pilgrims who participate in the procession, it was officially reported.
The operation will take place on Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd of October and will consist of 13 tanker trucks, five hydration stations and delivery stands for drinking water sachets, located at strategic points along the 60-kilometer route.
With the motto “Mother, look at us tenderly, we want to unite as a people”, thousands of faithful will depart from the Sanctuary of San Cayetano, located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Liniers, to the Basilica of Luján to participate in the traditional Pilgrimage.
In a press release, AYSA invited those who attend the event to bring their own bottle to recharge at the different hydration stations to “raise awareness about caring for the environment and the importance of reusing and reducing the consumption of plastics.”
There will also be health posts that will be located from Merlo to Luján and will have experienced health professionals: doctors, emergency physicians, nurses and podiatrists, and will be equipped with first aid kits, medicines and health supplies.
On the other hand, a large emergency operation is planned that has 40 ambulances and works in coordination with the hospitals of the different municipalities affected by the Pilgrimage.
