The AySA company will receive a disbursement of US$37 million from the World Bank (WB) after meeting the objectives proposed by the multilateral organization, within the framework of the program signed between both parties for a total of US$300 million.

“We thank the World Bank for continuing to trust us. This credit allows us to generate new jobs with gender parity and also connect each home to the water and sewage networks that bring well-being and health”said the president of AySA, Malena Galmarini, through a press release.

The next disbursement is part of a commitment assumed before the World Bank to “Guarantee safe access to water and sanitation services, promote an action plan to improve their efficiency, implement innovative digital solutions and promote gender parity.”

One of the main objectives proposed by the World Bank (WB) was for AySA to allocate these funds “to guarantee that its service networks reach neighbors and neighbors safely.”

In this sense, the company not only expanded its service networks “to more than 445,000 people”, but also developed its “ConnectT”which allows the connection of vulnerable households to the networks in a safe way.

In the case of ConexiónT, the joint work of AySA and the municipalities made it possible to generate 320 jobs with male and female workers who received training sessions to develop specific jobs.

“In terms of water, the program contemplates 10,000 connections to benefit 50,000 inhabitants, and in sewage 20,000 connections for 100,000 inhabitants in a maximum period of two years,” the company reported.

Interventions are currently being carried out in vulnerable areas of the Buenos Aires districts of San Fernando, Almirante Brown (Rafael Calzada, San José, San Francisco Solano and Claypole) and La Matanza (Isidro Casanova, Rafael Castillo and Virrey del Pino).

Vulnerable areas in the municipalities of Morón, Hurlingham, Lanús, Esteban Echeverría, San Martín and Avellaneda will soon be incorporated into the program.
