Ayotzinapa case: the FGR releases 83 arrest warrants against military, police and members of Guerrero Unidos

The Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) reported that he obtained 83 arrest warrants against 20 Army officers and troops from the 27th and 41st Army battalions in the city of Iguala, Guerrero, for acts related to the disappearance of the 43 normalistas of Ayotzinapa.

The FGR indicated that he also obtained five arrest warrants against administrative and judicial authorities of the state of Guerrero, 26 police officers from Huitzuco, six police officers from Iguala and one from Cocula, in addition to 11 state police officers from Guerrero and 14 members of the Guerreros Unidos criminal group. All of them linked to what happened in the city of IgualaGuerrero, on September 26 and 27, 2014, and later dates.

The crimes for which the arrest warrants were issued are for organized crime, forced disappearance, torture, homicide and crimes against the administration of justiceindicated the FGR.

“The accusations, in each case, will be announced in the corresponding criminal process, and the fulfillment of the arrest warrants will also be informed at the procedural moment that the law authorizes,” reported the Prosecutor’s Office a day after the case was filed. report of the Commission for Truth and Access to Justice of the case of the normal school students of Ayotzinapa.
