Ayacucho: Two districts begin a 48-hour strike against Wilfredo Oscorima

Hundreds of protesters from the districts of Acocro and Tambillo have taken to the streets of Ayacucho starting a 48-hour strike, demanding that the regional governor of Ayacucho, Wilfredo Oscorima, fulfill his promises. “Give us back the pig” This is the phrase that can be read on the signs of the residents, who mention that when the governor promised to carry out works, they gave him a pig.

The Defense Front of the districts of Acocro and Tambillo, located in the province of Huamanga, demands from the regional government the preparation of the technical file for the paving of the Andres Avelino Cáceres and Tambocucho road, the maintenance of the Huatatas – Acocro road, the construction of 11 reservoirs, the recovery of water basins, the improvement of primary education and the installation of a gas massification plant.

“He promised to build a road and dams when he came a month ago to inaugurate a project, and we gave him a pig in a poke.”said a resident of the districts. During the strike, images of violent acts carried out by what are believed to be vandals have been spread on social networks, with merchants having their products such as fruit and vegetables destroyed and businesses ending up with broken windows.
