Ayacucho: protesters set fire to Huamanga University on second day of strike (VIDEO)

A group of protesters set fire to the door of the Rectorate of the San Cristóbal de Huamanga University (UNSCH), in Ayacucho, during the second day of a regional strike called by the Ayacucho People’s Defense Front and the students of the aforementioned university house.

The violent incident was recorded on the afternoon of this Tuesday, October 25, after some protesters threw a flammable liquid at the university facilities.

In videos recorded and posted on social networks, the seriousness of what happened can be evidenced. Likewise, local media reported that the protestant group broke into the premises to take it over.

They entered the Rectorate of the San Cristóbal de Huamanga National University for a few minutes and took out some goods, however, police officers dispersed them.

What do college students require?

It is known that university students demand that their authorities hire teachers to be able to study and take classes regularly. They also ask for the resignation of the rector and two vice-rectors to stop the demonstrations.

Another point that the students question is that the daily portions of the University cafeteria. Protesters claim to have exhausted attempts at dialogue, which is why they radicalized their measure of force.
