Agents from the Highway Division of the National Police seized 38 packages of cocaine that were being transported by four individuals aboard a vehicle in Huanta. The alleged drug traffickers fired at the National Police.

PNP agents observed a suspicious vehicle carrying four subjects. When they saw that the National Police could intervene, they started shooting and threw two polyethylene bags, fleeing. Upon inspecting the bag, they found the 38 packages of drugs.

The illegal cargo was seized for investigations into the case, as it was possible to identify that it had a dolphin logo printed on it, so it is presumed that the drug is of high purity. It should be noted that no police personnel were injured after the shooting.
