Avoid traffic jams in Bogotá: They announce the total closure of Calle 3 with Carrera 68

In order to facilitate the construction of the new vehicular bridge over Av. Calle 3 for the works of the Transmilenio Trunk of Av. Carrera 68 and in compliance with the IDU – 346 – 2020 Contract, the Mobility secretary authorized the total closure of Av. Calle 3 between the Carrera 66 and Av. Carrera 68 in the East-West direction.

According to the schedule presented by the contractor, these construction activities will begin at 10:00 pm on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 and will be completed in approximately 12 months.

Traffic Management Plan (PMT):

In order to facilitate the execution of construction activities and guarantee the safety of all road users, Mobility authorized the following management plan.

Transit of private vehicles and public transport

Users traveling in an East-West direction along Av. Calle 3 should take Carrera 65 to the North and Calle 4B to the West where they will merge with Av. Carrera 68 to the North or South.

Transfer of public transport whereabouts

Due to the execution of the works on Av. Calle 3, the public transport stop 038A08 located at Carrera 66, will be moved 200 meters to the East on Carrera 64A.

⦁ Carrera 65 between calle 3 and calle 4B, operates in two-way traffic and with the PMT it will remain in a single direction of traffic South – North.

⦁ Calle 4B between Av. Carrera 68 and Carrera 65, operates in the West-East direction and with the PMT it will change direction from East to West.

On Av. Carrera 68, the traffic light pedestrian crossing of Calle 3 will be moved 60 meters to the South and there will be an additional traffic light pedestrian crossing at the height of Calle 4B.
