He Ministry of Public Works and Communications reported that the Floating Bridge on the Ozama River will be temporarily closed this Saturday, January 17, between 10:00 in the morning and 12:00 noon, to allow the passage of a boat.
The measure will involve the total interruption of the vehicular traffic during those two hours, so the institution recommended that drivers use alternate routes to avoid congestion in the area.
Alternative routes
- According to the official note, citizens who travel from Saint Dominic toward Villa Duarteor in the opposite direction, they may use the Matías Ramón Mella bridges and Juan Pablo Duarte as options to maintain circulation.
Public Works explained that the closure responds to the crossing of the boat R/M Pelican IIwhich will perform maneuvers to go up to the facilities of the Joseph Industrial Development shipyardlocated in the Ozama area.
The organization urged the population to take weather forecasts and to attend to the guidelines of the traffic authoritiesin order to reduce the inconveniences that may be generated by the momentary suspension of the service in that important communication channel.
