During the night of Wednesday, November 27, flight AV9418 of the airline Avianca could not take off from Matecaña Airport, in Pereira, bound for El Dorado Airport, in Bogotá, so the 164 passengers had to be quickly evacuated in slides.

One of the passengers who was on the flight to Bogotá recorded the exact moment when the aircraft had the problem and its pilots had to abort takeoff. The moments were one of panic and anxiety for the occupants of the plane.

What Avianca said about the failure in one of its planes
The Colombian airline reported that the failure occurred in one of the engines at the time of takeoff of the plane that from the Pereira airport he was heading to El Dorado, in Bogotá.
“The crew (4), opportunely, made the decision to stop the flight and remain on the ground,” says the press release issued by the company.
In addition, he assured that his pilots and crew are prepared to overcome these types of situations: “We understand that what happened caused distress to the passengers and we have the team at their disposal to assist them.”
Finally, they indicated that they will carry out a thorough investigation as part of the company’s security protocol. Suppliers and authorities will participate in it.
