Avian flu: local poultry production is safe, but on alert

Representatives of the Omega Green SA project (formerly BSBIOS Paraguay SA and ECB Paraguay SA), requested authorization from the General Directorate of the National Merchant Marine for the construction and fitting out of their private port in the Villeta area, department of Central, where it will also operate its biodiesel factory.

The request was made in a meeting they held with the director of the Merchant Navy, Abg. Patricio Ortega, in which Ricardo Maldonado, Andre Luiz Roll, representing the company, and Abg. Andrés Nasser, legal representative of the Berkemeyer law firm.

What is remarkable about the work is that it will not only be a port of export of natural products, but also of pindustrialized processed productsand above all that it will give direct employment to 3,000 people from the construction stage to the operation of the plant.

The request note for authorization of the construction permit was signed by the President of Omega Green himself, Erasmus Batistella.

Let us remember that the company Omega Green SA is carrying out and developing the investment project called “Omega Green”through which an industrial complex of production of advanced biofuels (HVO, SPK and Naphta) from vegetable oils, animal fat and residual oils of national origin.

For this purpose, a free zone contract has been signed with the Executive Power, on September 18, 2020, and the project was also declared of national interest according to Decree No. 6558 dated December 30, 2021.

The objective of the construction and operation of this private port is to carry out the tasks of supplying goods, as well as the reception and assembly of the necessary infrastructure for the commissioning of the plant, all in accordance with the established provisions. by Law No. 419/94 and Decree No. 14402/01 (and its amending Decree No. 4143/20).

The initiative represents the largest private investment in the history of Paraguay and the entire region in this areasince it will be the first second generation advanced biofuel plant (HVO and SPK) in the entire southern hemisphere of the American continent, with an estimated investment of USD 1,000 million.

Once operational (estimated in 2025), the The plant would be processing 20,000 barrels of biofuels per day, which transformed into liters is about 3,200,000 l/day, which per month would be 130 million literswhich would be practically the volume of diesel that Paraguay currently imports, so it is believed that the impact will be very important on the trade balance.

This, taking into account that with Omega Green Paraguay will be able to export biofuel, initially to send it to Europe, Scandinavia, North Americaaccording to the company’s contracts, but if there is a need, it can go to any destination, according to the Brazilian company.
