The Minister of Health and Sports, Jeyson Auza, reported that There are six departments with a high number of cases of influenza, and three where there are a number of positive cases that are controlled.
The national authority pointed out that, analyzing the endemic curve in children under five years of age, it is under control.
Regarding influenza, Auza said that when the Covid-19 pandemic was controlled, the epidemiological niche was occupied, a space that was being occupied by SARS-CoV-2, but when it is controlled it is occupied by other viruses and bacteria.
In this sense, the Minister of Health continued, it is that Influenza vaccination has started since the end of March and early April, so as not to wait until June as is usually done.
In addition, he added that all the Departmental Health Services (Headquarters) have been summoned to analyze each department and compare the data available at the national level.
“All the Headquarters have given ourselves tasks because they are the ones who manage the operational component in vaccination. For example, we have established that Headquarters have to work to guarantee the daily supply of vaccines seven days a week and not five”, Auza added.
Given the high number of cases due to respiratory diseases, Minister Auza pointed out that they They have to guarantee that minors have their vaccination schedule against all diseases.
“The recommendations for respiratory diseases are the same that we assign for Covid. In that sense, if we guarantee frequent hand washing and social distancing, to the extent possible, We will avoid the contagion of these evils”Auza said.
There are 13 vaccines that are part of the scheme national vaccination, plus immunization against covid and influenza.
