A forensic autopsy was performed on the bodies of Deputy Commissioner Ever Nelson Espínola, Senior Petty Officer Silvio de Jesús Cáceres and First Petty Officer Arístides Ramón Zalazar Talavera.
After the procedure, it was reported that evidence was extracted from the bodies of the killed uniformed men.
The preliminary report indicates that at the moment it cannot be determined if it was an execution, but the shots were fired at a distance of more than one meter.
Likewise, the investigators indicated that they are working on the identification of the people who had an active participation in the event.
It should be remembered that during the course of Sunday afternoon there was an apparent confrontation between members of the National Police’s Anti-Narcotics Department and criminals dedicated to drug trafficking in Colonia Yvy Marane’y, an area of former Puentesiño.
The three anti-narcotics police officers who were killed in Puentesiño were going to deploy drones to view marijuana plantations in the area.
They specialized in the use of these devices, which became prominent tools in the fight against crime.
