The Sectorial Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, presented on Saturday the explosive material that was seized in two sheds located in the Monagas state and that would be used for violent actions against the people.
From the industrial zone, the Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace showed the material located in boxes within one of the sheds, including explosives of different types, electric detonators, among others.
“A few days ago, from the headquarters of the Ministry of Interiors, Justice and Peace we announced a very unfortunate fact, the attempt of opposition sectors in Venezuela, in a criminal alliance of drug traffickers, conspirators and criminal gangs against our people, a bomb that wanted to put in Plaza Venezuela with a very high destructive power for a high traffic zone,” he recalled.
Cabello said that they came to the information that in the city of Maturín saw a strange material in some sheds and the security forces carried out the investigation that took them to the aforementioned shed in the industrial zone and another located on Avenida Ugarte Pelayo.
«What we have found here is alarming for the very high destructive power that is accumulated here. We have started research, which is very professional. Until now there are eight detained people and we are looking for about 10 or 12 more that are indicated by the investigation security agencies, ”he added.
The minister stressed the links of these actions with the extreme right, specifically with the opponent María Corina Machado, asserting that “we know that those responsible for this have direct link with political extremism in Venezuela, with Mrs. María Machado. None of this happens spontaneously, all this is planned by American imperialism to harm Venezuela ».
He explained that they found 1,137 boxes of hollow loads of different types for a total of 54,000 units of hollow loads, 35 rolls of detonating cord, which gives an additional load to the explosive to generate more damage, among other materials.
