The executive director of the Airport Department, Víctor Pichardo, led a tour of the land where the Pedernales International Airport will be built, in the Los Tres Charcos area, municipality of Oviedo.
The commission was also made up of the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC), represented by Claudia Roa, director of Air Navigation, and Hender Castro, director of Operational Safety Surveillance, as well as technicians from the Airport Department. With this technical inspection, the conditions of the location of the land where the terminal will be built will be verified.

Also present at the visit were the Governor of Pedernales, Miriam Brea, and the Mayor of Oviedo, Ramón Pérez, who expressed their satisfaction at seeing that the work is being carried out and that the population of Pedernales will finally see their dream come true. Pichardo thanked the receptivity and willingness of the entire community, “We, together with the IDAC and the APP (General Directorate of Public-Private Alliance) are working day and night,” concluded Víctor Pichardo.
The delimitation of the international airport of Pedernales covers about 14 million square meters.
