The Secretary of Planning for the Development of the Municipal Government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Andrea Daza, reported that this Friday morning a letter was sent to the Governor’s Office requesting guarantees so that municipal authorities, including Mayor Jhonny Fernández, can Go to the Departmental Government building to participate in the border conciliation process that is pending with the municipality of La Guardia.
“We have presented in the Government, first requesting guarantees to present ourselves to the conciliation processes and we have also requested that before continuing this process in the field work stage, the 82 observations that exist in form and substance, which is regulated in the current norm, must be corrected, “explained Daza.
Daza was with Mayor Jhonny Fernández the day he was attacked inside and outside the Government building. Moreover, due to this, a criminal complaint was filed, which is ongoing, to find the material and intellectual authors of this fact.
Regarding the reason for entering the Governor’s office, Daza asserted that they must work in a conciliation process with the Municipal Government of La Guardia, to delimit the territory of each commune.
“We have made observations (82) before the Government to correct them, to guarantee that the process does not have defects. It is important that everything is fully complied with. As a municipality we have the predisposition to reach an agreement, as long as all the observations are corrected,” said the official.
He explained that in 2019 the conciliation process with La Guardia was born, that same year an inter-institutional agreement was signed. However, in 2021 a new proposal enters, where the territory of the municipality of Santa Cruz de la Sierra is affected, for which reason it is requested that the 2019 agreement be respected. “At this time we have to guarantee respect for the 2019 agreement.”he emphasized.
