Authorities incinerate more than 600 kilograms of drugs

Santo Domingo.- The authorities incinerated more than 600 kilograms of drugs, more than 98% cocaine, seized in operations carried out by the Public Ministry and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD).

The narcotics had a total weight of 645,901 kilograms, which included 633,371 kilograms of cocaine, for 98.06%, and 11,899 kilograms of marijuana, equivalent to 1.84%.

Also, crack 567 grams, with 0.0877%; of hashish 31 grams, for 0.0048%; 29 grams of ecstasy, which represents 0.0045%, as well as 0.00401 of heroin, with 0.0006%.

The National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), which is in charge of these tasks, explained that 64 grams of other substances were also burned, which after being analyzed were negative for drugs.

Most of the narcotic substances were seized in the Santo Domingo and Azua provinces during operations carried out by the Public Ministry and the DNCD. Also, in Santiago, San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, La Altagracia, Sánchez Ramírez and Espaillat.

The act took place in the compound of the Army of the Dominican Republic, in the Pedro Brand municipality, Santo Domingo province, where it was announced that since last January to date a total of 19,071,286 kilograms of different drugs used in the work against drug trafficking have been incinerated. which takes place throughout the country.
