The governor of the state of Lara, Adolfo Pereira, stated this Sunday that the national and regional authorities remain on alert in the face of the rains that have been recorded in the entity for several days and to address the damage caused by the flooding generated by the rainfall.

In the Urdaneta municipality, according to Latest Newsthe Ministries of Public Works and Housing and Habitat enabled heavy machinery to support the work of sediment removal and channeling of roads in the Siquisique area; which was affected by flooding due to the overflowing of the Tocuyo and Baragua rivers.

Mayor Hamad Al Chaer pointed out that 69 families were affected by the flooding of their homes, while he noted that they are working to recover three drinking water wells.
On November 9, the state of Lara was hit by intense rains that caused serious flooding in various sectors, both in the capital Barquisimeto and in the Palavecino municipality. There, the community of Carorita Abajo, in El Valle, was considerably affected by the overflowing of a stream that flooded several homes and flooded roads.
The Intercomunal Barquisimeto – Cabudare avenue was also completely flooded, forcing drivers to abandon their vehicles, which were swept away by the current of water; as well as the overflowing of the Tabure stream, which caused flooding on El Placer Avenue and nearby areas.
In the northern area of Barquisimeto, flooding of the Hiperlíder supermarket was reported.
